Gladiator Games!
The Coliseum wasn't the only amphitheatre in ancient Rome; there were several scattered throughout the entire empire. The amphitheatre pictured above is in Tunisia, Africa. The gladiators themselves were usually slaves, criminals, or prisoners of war. Occasionally, the Gladiators were able to fight for their freedom.
